About MUGSU...

The Monash University Gippsland Student Union is a non profit organisation providing representation, services and facilities to maximise benefits to members and support student participation and governance on the Gippsland campus of Monash University.

Our aims and objectives are:

• To occupy and operate premises which shall be a common meeting ground and social centre providing a safe and non-threatening environment for members of the Union.
• To provide facilities for the entertainment, refreshment, recreation, and convenience of the members of the Union.
• To create opportunities for and to encourage the development of cultural, social, intellectual, recreational, and sporting activities for members of the Union.
• To secure the cooperation of the University peoples, organisations and bodies in furthering the objects and interests of the Union and University.
• To provide advice and assistance for the interests of individuals within the Union with regard to social, educational, and welfare matters and encourage special interest groups within the Gippsland campus.
• To foster the development of social intercourse between members of the Union and the wider community.
• To provide appropriate support services to enhance the educational experience and assist in the skill development of members. 
• To assume such other responsibilities and organise and direct such activities as may be deemed appropriate for giving expression to the common interests of members and furthering the objects aforementioned.

For over forty years MUGSU have been fulfilling our aims and objectives by providing a wide range of activities and events as well as opportunities to engage in the University Community. Today’s MUGSU has a professional staffing profile that work with and assist a student driven Board to fulfil their strategic objectives during their term of office. A fun and vibrant organisation that is responsive to student needs why not get involved in any of our activities, events, clubs and societies, use our friendly services or even consider taking up the challenge of a Student Leadership Opportunity and running for the MUGSU Inc Board.
