GAPS Tour to Werribee Zoo and Great Ocean Road
GAPS organized the final tour of the year 2011 to Great Ocean Road on 29th and 30th of October which had been a long deserved destination. The event was supported by Gippsland Research Office and MUGSU. There was a huge response from the Gippsland postgraduate student community to attend the event and a total of 38 participants attended at the end. We enjoyed the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Victoria State Rose Garden, the wonderful views of the Great Ocean Road including the 12 Apostles. Though the weather was not in favour at some parts of the tour, overall we believe everyone enjoyed the time. Thanks to everyone who extended their kind support and co-operation to organize such a trip.

Thanks for arranging such an event for the students and i would say it was successfully done. Here i am specially thanking Tanvir, Farhan, Nizamul and others for their unstinting effort. Being a new student at Monash this initiative really bestowed me an opportunity to know most of the post graduate students while there is no formal welcoming session from the university.
I really enjoyed most of the parts of the trip except the time management at the starting point though i know it is not easy to handle everything in stipulated time.

I must say this tour was the longest and the best tour so far I have participated. The quality of management and maintaining requirements from more than thirty participants were really outstanding. The happy memories from Werribee Zoo, Rose Garden and 12 Apostles never allow the tiresome journey to pop up in the mind.
Good job by GAPS!!!.

The trip was good and GAPS have well organizing. The cost is economical. It was really worth the monney and time for the trip. It would be great if GAPS limits number of passenger at 10 per van because sitting at the back seats of van can cause car sick. Some passengers got car sick that is not good for happy time.

The trip was fantastic and everything came off without a single problem. Werribee Open Zoo, Rose Garden, Great Ocean Road, 12 Apostles are THE BEST!!- we enjoyed awesome views and scenery, and travelled along the mind blowing routes. And indeed GAPS did a fantastic job putting these arrangements all together for us. With our very limited contribution, this tour would be impossible without the remarkable support of GAPS. Anyhow, the tour could be much better if the weather was much supportive and the program was designed for 3 days instead of 2 days.
However, I was speechless to see the voluntarily efforts and dedications of all GAPS members especially the president of GAPS for giving a significant number of hours and showing endless patience even before the tour had started. Heartiest thanks to all GAPS members!
Overall, the tour was fantastic.

We enjoyed every moment of the trip. Being at such amazing places with a lot of friends is an extraordinary experience money can never buy. The backpacker's hotel was not that comfortable though, as expected. But given the fund constraints, I believe that the GAPS committee chose wisely. Besides, the contribution from participants being low, the trip did not pose much financial constraint on us. I wish the weather was a little better at the 12 apostles, but I still enjoyed it. I praise and appreciate the hard work the GAPS committee put into this to make it a success. I wish they would arrange more trips like this and I am certainly coming.
